I’m so glad I have discovered you!! I am 77 and after living in Michigan for 27 years have returned to California to live with my daughter & son-in-law. I was born in Everett WA and spent my childhood & adolescence primarily in the Vancouver/Portland area. Just yesterday, I realized I’m feeling lonely. I no longer drive & am not getting out of the house much as I’ve been dealing the last 9 months with some foot injuries. Do you write a blog anywhere? I just started my Substack a couple months ago and prior to that wrote short essays on instagram @amywritesandpsints. I still do posts there but want to do long form essays here on Substack. My goal is weekly essays/blogs and I’m a memoirist and so I integrate my own life into all of my work. But this is my side gig.
I work full time as an Admin Manager/Data analyst at our Island Fire Dept. I’m also mom to a 16 yr old so busy parenting, and constantly doing renovation/remodel projects which I write about too. And I’m a painter. My website is amymartinwritersndpainter.com. My point here is, due to the workload on my current plate, I can’t commit to a pen pal experience but would love to interact regularly in the comments here and my subscriber chat as I post more and share my life.
I also, with your permission, could open up my Substack “chat” with a request for folks seeking to connect with other like-minded individuals in need of one-on-one writing pals to connect. You could then exchange info and email in the subscriber chat. Is that something you’d be open to having me assist with there?
